Workshop Description (recording):
Abstraction is the process of creating an image that looks less and less like a real thing. A pure abstract may have no reference to the original at all. A semi-abstract or stylised image is one which has been altered and simplified but still looks like the object or scene it represents. We will be exploring both in this exciting workshop!
With years of experience and a gentle manner, artist and tutor Vivianne Hazenveld will help guide you to create your own unique contemporary art. Following her simple yet unique process, you will easily turn a realistic image into a stylised or abstract work.
This workshop is suitable for; absolute beginners who have no idea where to start, traditional artists wishing to explore abstraction and more advanced artists looking for a simple formula to expand their creative practice. Looking at artists such as Picasso and Mondrian, you will explore a simple step by step way of creating. Allowing the work to evolve rather than sticking to preconceived ideas means each student’s work will be unique.
